# Salary groups
The Employee Payroll Module includes a feature to create and manage salary groups for employees. A salary group allows for the grouping of employees based on specific rules and criteria, making it easier to manage and calculate their salaries. This documentation will outline the process of creating salary groups and assigning them to employees within the system.
Creating a Salary Group: To create a salary group, follow these steps:
- Access the Employee Payroll Module and navigate to the Salary Group section.
- Click on the "Add Salary Group" button to initiate the creation process.
- Provide a unique name for the salary group to identify it easily.
- Define the rules and criteria for the salary group based on the organization's requirements. Examples of rules could include: The Employee Payroll Module allows you to manage payroll calculations and payments for a specific group of employees. Here are the key features and options available:
Frequency:- Select the frequency at which you want to create payroll for this employee group. Choose from options such as monthly, weekly, etc.
Effective Date:- Specify the date from which you want to start calculating payroll using this salary group. This allows you to apply changes retroactively if needed.
Enable Salary Advances:- This option enables or disables the functionality for providing salary advances to employees. When enabled, you can set up and manage salary advances for individual employees.
Enable Leave Integration:- Integrate the leave management system with the payroll module. Enabling this feature ensures that unpaid leave days are deducted from the employee's payroll calculation. This helps in accurately reflecting the impact of leaves on salary payments.
Enable Absent Integration:- Enable this feature to deduct absences from the payroll calculation. When an employee is absent, their salary will be reduced based on the specified absent rate. This allows for automatic adjustment of salaries based on attendance.
Enable Overtime Integration:- Enable this feature to include overtime in the payroll calculation. You can set up different overtime rates for various scenarios, such as normal overtime, weekly off overtime, and holiday overtime. This ensures that overtime hours worked by employees are accurately reflected in their salary calculations.
